Craggy Range is a family owned winery situated in the shadow of the spectacular Te Mata Peak in the premium wine growing area of Hawkes Bay New Zealand. Hailing from th western side of the Te Muna range, the grapes for this wine enjoy exposure to the afternoon sun in Martinborough, making this one of the warmer blocks in Martinborough The well-draining soils consist of silt loam and varying levels of clay. The resulting wine has a riper, more tropical fruit profile. Tasting notes: Pale lime to pale straw. Lifted citrus notes interwoven with distinctive tones of apssion fruit pulp. The palate has an intriguing slatey palate that carries voluminous citrus frit. The crunchy acidity perfectly balances the sweet varietal fruit. The finish is long and pure. Aged 5 months in stainless steel tanks, Franch oak cuves and French oak barriques.
