The wine estate of Château du Trignon was acquired in 1895 by Joseph Roux and run by his descendants until 2007, when Pascal Roux, a passionate winemaker, who had kept the quality of the wine at the highest levels, sold the vineyard to another esteemed Rhone Valley winemaker, Jerome Quiot. Rasteau is a single parcel of red clay and small pebbles, planted in 50 year old Grenache and Mourvèdre vines. Grapes totally de-stemmed. Fermented (17-21 days) and matured in vats and ‘foudres’. Garnet ripe berries, “Herbes de Provence”. Balance between body and freshness. Finish on notes of spices and undergrowth.
