Château Cordeillan-Bages 2012, Pauillac, Bordeaux, France

Château Cordeillan-Bages is produced by the winemakers of Chateau Lynch-Bages. The two hectares of the small Cordeillan-Bages vineyard sit to the south of Pauillac on a gravelly ridge of the Bages plateau. Powerful and elegantly classic, this wine’s complexity increases over time. Formerly the home of a wine that was classified in the 1932 cru bourgeois classification, it was bought in 1985 by Jean-Michel Cazes, owner of its illustrious neighbor, Château Lynch-Bages. The addition of several plots of vines to the estate leads to the revival of a great wine whose reputation is now at its height. Grape varieties: 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot. Aged 15 months in French oak barrels (50% new).
