Chateau Beychevelle Amiral de Beychevelle Saint-Julien 2019, Bordeaux France

The Amiral de Beychevelle is the Second Wine of the Château Beychevelle. The rigorous selection process undergone by the grand vin results in the creation of its younger brother, Amiral de Beychevelle. Despite being made from young vines, Amiral de Beychevelle benefits from the same growing techniques, meticulous sorting, and traditional barrel ageing. It has the same elegance and finesse as its older brother, but reveals its character more quickly, offering wine-enthusiasts the full vivacity of its youth. It can be kept for up to fifteen years, depending on the vintage. 2019 vintage: 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot. The 2019 wines have good, strong colors, well-defined, fresh fruit, and a more moderate alcohol content than the previous vintage; their tannic structures reveal impressive elegance and depth. The volumes harvested enabled a very rigorous selection – around 55% – to produce a grand vin in the tradition of its predecessors.
