Chateau Beychevelle Amiral de Beychevelle Saint-Julien 2013, Bordeaux France

The Amiral de Beychevelle 2013 is the Second Wine of the Château Beychevelle. It is composed of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot harvested on the vineyard of the property, in the heart of the appellation Saint Julien. In the glass, the Amiral de Beychevelle 2013 presents a very beautiful dark garnet color tinged with purplish reflections. On the nose, the Amiral de Beychevelle 2013 is loaded with aromas of fresh red and black fruits coated in notes of oak, spices, vanilla and blond tobacco. After some shaking of the glass, subtle balsamic notes also appear. Once on the palate, the Amiral de Beychevelle 2013 is very well balanced with medium acidity and a smooth, coating tannic structure. The red and black fruits evolve in the mouth, revealing timid notes of cocoa and tobacco on a finish with medium persistence. The Amiral de Beychevelle 2013 is a little young but already delicious. It will gain in maturity and will reveal all its potential after a few years in bottle.
