Casadei Cabernet Franc "Filare 18" 2017, Toscana IGT, Italy

Casadei wines express the scents and charm of the Tuscan coast at its best. Wine style is based on balance, elegance and an expression of the unique Suvereto terrior. “We believe great wines are made in the vineyard. The southern Tuscan terroir features unique minerality; vineyards have a slightly acidic soil pH. Through the painstaking work of our vineyard management team, the careful ripening of grapes and our timeless vinification process, we create wines of superior concentration, intense fruit and dramatic flavor.” Vineyard size and altimetry: 1,5 hectares, 40 Mt above sea level. Exposure: south-West, North-East. Type of soil: Medium loam with well-weathered rock, rich in minerals and micro-elements with pH tending to neutral. Manual harvest in small crates to preserve the perfect integrity of the berries. De-stemming followed by gentle pressing with light crushing of the grapes. Fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. After vinification, the wine is aged in 225 liter French oak barrels, 80% new and 20% second use for 15-18 months. Tasting notes: This wine is an explosion of pure aromas, with fruits and sweet spices perfectly blended: to unwrap them is a wonderful tasting experience! At the palate the entrance is supple, warm and mouth filling with a good minerality and pleasant acidity which balance the silky tannins, giving freshness and longevity.
