2017 vintage -100% Merlot. Vineyard Locations and AVAs : Caroway Vineyard (Columbia Valley), Black Rock Vineyard (Yakima Valley). Winemaking: Pump overs 2-3 times daily; pressed at 2-6% sugar; peak fermentation temperature 85 degrees; aged 19 months in old and new European oak barrels. Winemaker’s Comments: “Merlot in Washington is big, rich wine. Dense, powerful and not to be taken lightly, this 2017 is once again a Cabernet lover’s Merlot. Supple on the entry, showing harmonious flavors of plum, cherry & raspberry accented by notes of bittersweet chocolate and toasted coconut. This superbly balanced and crafted Merlot would be an excellent match for seared beef fillet or tender pork shoulder.
