Barnard Griffin Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, Columbia Valley, Washington

Barnard Griffin Winery is situated in south-central Washington at the confluence of the Yakima, Columbia, and Snake Rivers, in the heart of Washington State’s wine country. Founded in 1983 by Rob Griffin and Deborah Barnard, Barnard Griffin has been producing wines for over 30 years. 2017 – 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Syrah, 2% Petite Sirah, 1% Petit Verdot. Winemaking: Pumpovers 2 times daily; pressed at 1-3% sugar; peak fermentation temperature 85 degrees; aged 18 months in old and new European oak barrels. “Racy acidity dances around a juicy core of plum, cherry and orange zest flavors. Just a touch of anise and herb gives way to round, velvety tannins and a silky, viscous mouthfeel. Excellent when paired with red-sauced pasta dishes and grilled meats.”
