Ashes & Diamond’s Cabernet Franc is a naturally restrained, balanced wine with subtle power and aromatic finesse that comes from the volcanic, clay and sandy loam soils of select vineyards in Napa Valley’s cooler south side (Los Carneros, Oak Knoll District and Yountville). Collectively known as the “mouth” of Napa Valley, these sites take in morning fog and afternoon sea breezes from the San Pablo Ban, enabling the grapes to ripen slowly with minimal heat spikes. Maceration: 14-21 days in stainless steel tanks. Barrel aged: 20 months. Cooperage: 20% new French oak. Located at the gateway of Napa Valley, along its main artery, Highway 29, Ashes & Diamonds Winery’s mid-century approach extends to its architecture. As an homage, the iconic zig-zag roof and portholes are a few of the iconic references to the heritage of California mid-century modern design, seamlessly integrated with a state-of-the-art wine production facility surrounded by light, airy landscapes and playful, rolling berms.
