Andrew Januik Wines is committed to making limited quantities of high quality wine from the most preeminent vineyards of Washington State and South America. “We use innovative and experimental winemaking techniques to create medium-bodied, elegant wines that showcase the terroir of the unique wine growing regions beyond our borders.” 2019 vintage – 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, 1% Merlot. A beautiful violet wine with generous aromas of blackberry and cocoa. The textured layers show flavors ranging from huckleberry to pepper. The finish is long and brimming with bright acidity and fine tannins. “Ciel du Cheval, Obelisco, and Quintessence Vineyards, all located in the Red Mountain AVA, are three of my favorites. These particular vineyards always express the terroir of Red Mountain especially well. The rich soils, dependable air drainage, and limited rainfall result in highly concentrated berries with dense skins, rich inky color, and daring complexity.” The wine is aged 22 months in 55% new French oak, 45% once-used French oak.
